Shopping for School Shoes: Our advice and Suggestions

Shopping for shoes with kids is a torment! From trawling through the shops for hours to dealing with bored and cranky kids; there is nothing more tedious than trying to get that perfect shoe that satisfies both you and your child.

Here are our top tips for shopping for school shoes plus some of our suggestions for all ages.

There are many factors to consider when shopping for shoes for your child. Make sure you tick them all off the list with these tips:

  • Choose a heavy duty shoe that will survive the every day wear and tear of school.
  • Check the sole of the shoe to make sure that they are non-slip to avoid bloody knees!
  • Ask the salesperson for help! To avoid mid-shop meltdowns, you could try Clark's for a bit of a futuristic treat. They provide a professional and high-tech Measure and Fit service with their specially designed iPad foot measuring gauge which even has little cartoon characters to keep the kids entertained!
  • Consider whether the price tag is worth it? Remember, small kids can grow a full shoe size in a matter of three months!
  • Check if your school has any restrictions with the style of shoes. Some Primary schools may not allow shoes with lights and some Secondary schools have strict rules about heel height for girls.
