Why We Love It

Oats are a perfect meal for kids because they are full of fibre which is digested by the body slowly which means you stay fuller for longer and keeps blood sugars balanced.

Strawberries are an excellent source of antioxidant-promoting vitamin C and manganese. They are also a very good source of dietary fiber, iodine, and folate. Plus, strawberries are a good source of copper, potassium, biotin, phosphorus, magnesium, vitamin B6, and omega-3 fatty acids.

Yogurt contains high amounts of calcium, which can help maintain bone and tooth strength.

What You'll Need

8 x Strawberries
4 Tbsp x Orange Juice
50g x Whole Porridge Oats
2 Tbsp x Sunflower Seeds
3 Tbsp x Pumpkin Seeds
3 Tbsp x Clear Honey
12 tsp x Natural Bio Yoghurt

Method

Remove the green stalks from the strawberries and slice into desired thickness. Put the slices in a bowl and add the orange juice. Set aside for now.

Put the oats into a frying pan without oil or butter and dry fry over medium-low heat for approximately 3 minutes. Turn the oats occasionally using a wooden spoon to ensure that they cook evenly.

Add the sunflower and pumpkin seeds and dry fry for another 2 minutes or until light golden in colour. The pumpkin seeds may pop a little!

Take the pan off the heat and stir in the clear honey. As the pan is extremely hot, the honey may sizzle but this is normal. Combine the honey and oats until they are completely coated. Allow to cool slightly.

In a small plastic tub, about the size of a large yoghurt pot, layer the oats on the bottom, top with 2 heaped spoonfuls of yoghurt and some of the strawberries. Repeat layering as desired. You can swap the strawberries for any fruit of choice, like melon or blueberries, everything tastes great!
