121 Digital | 121digital is a programme where adults bring their mobile phone to a participating
school for FREE tuition, by TY students, under the guidance of a Mentor.
Tutors are paired with their Learner for the course. They get to know how their
Learner thinks, understands, learns and what makes them ‘tick’.
Sharing digital skill is the ‘glue’ that brings our Tutors and Learners together - then
they chat about .... sport, history, hobbies, TV, film, etc.
Learners say they feel more confident, secure, ‘in-touch’, able to communicate.
Tutors often say ‘... 121digital is the best thing I did in TY ...’ w: www.121digital.ie e: fintan.mulligan@gmail.com (086 8199 752) |

| The central aim of the Friends of the Elderly Transition Year and CSPE Programmes is to give time for the young and old to enjoy each other's company. The planned activities will give the students a greater apprecation of the values of the elderly, of how life was lived in Ireland during the 30's, 40's and 50's, of what the elderly have achieved and what they are passing on to us. We hope that students will take with them the knowledge that the elderly are good company, that ageing is an integral part of life, and that a life well led should be celebrated. w: www.friendsoftheelderly.ie (01 8731855 ) | |
