Freshtoday supply over 110,000 school lunches weekly to over 130 schools nationwide. Freshtoday entered the school meals market in 2009 with the intention of producing and supplying a higher quality school lunch and improved school lunch service. Since 2009 Freshtoday has rapidly grown and now supply over 110,000 lunches every week! This is in no small thanks to our extremely supportive schools who are delighted with our lunch service.

Funding for Non-DEIS Schools
“In the Budget 2016 the Government announced €5,700,000 for School Meals. As a new initiative, 35,000 extra school breakfasts will be provided in NON-DEIS schools, which will be expanded in future years. This will allow all schools to give a free breakfast to every student, 5 days a week”

Why We Entered the School Meals Market
The company was founded with the objective of overcoming two major problems with the schools meals market:
- Increasing the choice of school lunch provider for schools, at the time only two major suppliers serviced the industry nationwide.
- Those providers distributed on a national rather than local level, creating unnecessary emissions with no benefit to the local economy.
