App to lock down kid's phones

Posted by Elizabeth Clarke, on 19/08/2014. App to lock down kid's phonesTags: Parenting

Houston mother of two, Sharon Stanford, has created an app which allows parents to disable their child’s phone from afar. Stanford was so frustrated with her son repeatedly not answering her calls, that she came up with the genius idea behind the app, ‘Ignore No more.’

The app allows parents to disable their child’s phone after they fail to respond to texts and calls. The phone is completely deactivated, and a lock down screen appears. The child must call mum or dad in order to get a code which will unlock the phone.

By cutting kids off from internet and friends, they are encouraged to call home in order to resume normal activity.

Parent’s around the world have been impressed by the control the app grants them over their children’s phones. However, the kids have not been so keen. Speaking to CBS, Stanford’s teenage son, Bradley, said ‘'I thought it was a good idea, but for other people, not me,'

While the iphone version is still under development, ‘Ignore No More’ is available to download in android version here.
