Leaving Certificate students have been assured their Irish exam will go ahead as scheduled at 14:00 today (June 11th) despite problems with the papers.
The State Examinations Commission (SEC) has announced a security breach that has required backup exams to be distributed to second-level schools will have no direct impact on pupils.
Schools are expected to collect replacement papers from delivery offices this morning, after an error in distribution led to contingency tests needing to be deployed.
The new exams will replace the Higher and Ordinary Level Irish papers that were handed to schools last week.
Minister for Education and Skills Ruairi Quinn commented: "I am satisfied that the SEC is taking every step necessary to ensure that the integrity of the examination system is maintained."
The state examination period began on June 6th, with 116,000 pupils across the country due to undertake Leaving and Junior Certificate tests.
