A funding crisis in Dublin primary schools means dozens maybe be forced to close because of cuts in financial schemes for schools. Director of education secretariat at the Archdiocese of Dublin told the
Joint Committee on Education and Social Protection, that many Dublin schools were running out of money and could be forced to close in two years.
Reported in
The Irish Times today, the committee was also told that schools will face mergers with other schools, such as the
controversial merger of Ballyfermot De La Salle National School with the nearby Dominican campus, because of these closures.
