A new IT facility has been opened in Dundalk, which could be of interest to those in
secondary school thinking about their college choices.
Taoiseach Brian Cowen opened the DkIT School of Informatics & Creative Arts at the Dundalk Institute of Technology on Friday (February 11th 2011).
The facility cost 38 million euros and takes place of the former PJ Carroll & Company factory.
Students looking at studying information technology further could benefit from the new facility as the Taoiseach said it holds lots of benefits for enterprise.
He stated: "This latest round of investment in the built environment on the campus will provide a suitable study and research environment for this and future generations of staff and students."
Dundalk Institute of Technology offers undergraduate courses in computing in game development and computing in information technology management, as well as masters in similar subjects.
It also provides the opportunity to do a doctorate in software development.
