An initiative designed to educate primary school children about paralympic sport has been launched in Dublin.
Paralympics Ireland is behind the Follow Your Star programme, which is intended to help teachers and students understand about the movement, Inside Ireland reports.
Programmes manager for the organisation Naomi O'Reilly commented: "We hope that it will inspire young people throughout Ireland to learn more about Paralympic Sport and support the Irish Team at the London 2012 Paralympic Games."
Around 3,400 primary schools are set to receive promotional literature on the campaign, according to the body.
Paralympic athletes Nadine Lattimore, Anne-Marie McDaid, Padraic Moran and Ellen Keane were all in attendance at the launch of the scheme, which was held at St Pius BNS in Terenure.
There are 22 sports in the Paralympics 2012 event; archery, cycling- track, equestrian, goalball, sailing, volleyball, cycling- road, boccia, athletics, football five-a-side, football seven-a-side, rowing, judo, powerlifting, shooting, swimming, table tennis, rugby, sitting volleyball, tennis, fencing and basketball.
