According to the Independent, Raheen Gaelscoil in Limerick is balloting parents on whether to move the date of their scheduled
Holy Communion on 24th May as it clashes with a One Direction concert. It is believed that three families who have kids attending the school, have objected to the May 24 date as their children have bought tickets for the One Direction concert happening on the same date.
The Independent reports that a meeting in the school to try and resolve the matter became quite heated and no agreement was reached. The school has subsequently decided to ballot parents on the preferred date.
It has also been reported that a number of schools in Cork and Dublin have selected Holy Communion dates to avoid a clash with the One Direction concerts following early representations from both parents and children.
