Junior and
Leaving Cert students have been offered some advice on how to prepare for their forthcoming mock exams.
Writing for the Irish Times, Brian Mooney said pupils can benefit from looking over past papers and preparing a range of answers for questions that are likely to come up.
Students should summarise key facts and write them on index cards, as it is almost impossible to memorise large volumes of text.
"Exercise and a good diet will help: Don't be a total swot. Mixing with your friends and taking exercise will help you relax. And a good diet is key," he commented.
Other tips include taking regular study breaks and getting enough sleep.
Speaking recently, Rachel Lambert, managing director of Learning Performance said that revising is about renewing the connections in your memory.
She noted that students should aim to take a five-minute stretch break at least every 40 minutes.
