Hi - can someone explain how this scheme would work for my daughter who was born in August 2008. When is she eligible for the free year or is it actually split between 2 school years as some people have told me!! Thanks

Hi there,your child would have to be 3yrs and 3mths on 1st sept 2011,to avail of it this coming sept 2011,other wise your child will have to wait until sept 2012,my little boy was 3 last july and did not qualify for a place last sept as he was only 3yrs and 6wks,he can avail of it this sept 2011,but as he is 4 in july he is starting school in sept 2011,so he has lost out on that free year,hope this helps, kcar.
