Returning to work in March 2018, is it too soon to be searching for full time childminder for one child? Most of the adds I am coming across are all for immediate start or next couple months ahead. Living in Maynooth.

No I definitely think it´s good to search for the right person in advance! I´m a childminder in Celbridge. How old would your child be in March?

No not at all! You could slowly introduce your child to the childminder. Maybe meet for coffee then progress to leaving your child with them for an hour or so and work it that way till you´re confident they will be happy & settled in march! Good opportunity for you to have an hour or 2 for yourself. Best of luck :)
