22/08/2017 18:23 - How Much Should I Charge or Pay (Locality: Dublin South)
-----------------------------------
Hi, I´m returning to work in Jan 2018 and will be looking to get a nanny to come to my house to mind my 3 children. Will need someone from 1pm-6pm, 4 days per week. The person will need to collect my 3 from school (10 min walk from house), walk home, provide a snack for children, supervise and entertain them for afternoon and prepare their dinner, also want someone who will do childrens laundry and have the playroom and kitchen tidied up for when i return from wrk. I dont know where to start with the process so have a few questions- 1) will it be very hard to find someone for just 20 hours per week? 2) considering the hours are so low would most applicants be looking for cash in hand or should we go ahead now and register ourselves as employers? 3) what would the going rate be for 3 children (ages 6, 4 and 4) in own home for 4 afternoons per week? i was thinking 13EURO per hour but no idea am I way off here? All advise greatly appreciated! thank you

1) should be doable. Often less hours means more money though.
2) safer register (revenue, insurance, contract signed etc protect yourself) plus its the law.
3)Appropriate rate, although many qualified/professional nannies won´t do housework or would charge extra.
