Hi there,

We are currently making arrangements for our new daughter for when I return to work at the end of February 2012. At that stage she will be 6 months old.

My husband is self-employed and works from home, and as such we cannot say exactly what hours we will need. We guess it would be one/two/three full days per week, or three-four half days, or a mixture of both.

Ideally we would find someone in the Rathmines / Rathgar /Ranelagh area who is maybe already minding another child in their own home and so would be at home anyway if we needed a child-minder. Because the days would not be set in stone, we understand that a childminder can not sit waiting to see if they are needed and hence them depending soley on the work we can provide would probably not work out in the long term.

We would love her to go to a family home that’s busy, loving, welcoming and entertaining for her!

We would try to plan ahead a week in advance and give as much notice as possible as we would like to be fair to the childminder and also have a regular routine for our daughter, but due to the irregularity my husbands work, we would need someone who can take our daughter at short notice at times, and also someone who doesn’t mind if they are not needed on a particular week.

I will have the car at work so its needs to be within walking distance from our home so that my Husband can drop her off and collect her by foot.

Please do not reply if you would be depending soley on the work provided by our child as it may change from week to week and we obviously want to find someone who we can work with long term without them feeling that they are not getting enough work.

Please reply stating:
Your family circumstances/ ages of other children you look after
Your experience/qualifications
Whether or not you are a registered/insured childminder
Your pay expectations
Your address (not the house-number! just the street so that we know if its feasible for my Husband to walk there to drop off/collect)
Your availability
Your contact details

Please note that if we get a lot of interest we will only be able to reply to the people we would like to get more information from.

Thanks in advance,
Mairead
