We are in the process of relocating from England to Wicklow Town. We have a 17 month old little boy and we are wondering what we need to do in order to get him registered with a primary school and which primary schools have the best repuation in the area? Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

If you are moving soon , you would probably do well to wait and talk to some of your new neighbours. Find out where the local children attend school. Ask how the parents find the school. You could then make appointments to meet the principal/s to see situation regarding vacancies and what you think of the school/s yourself.

Educate Together National School in Wicklow town is a very good school, with a multi-denominational child-centred ethos. Teachers, parents, children are all great to deal with. V. nice atmosphere. Log on to www.wicklowetns.com for details. They also run a Naonrai (pre-school) from 9.00 - 12.00 Mon - Fri.
