At what age do parents think a child is ready to walk home from school alone? Bare in mind, this may involve crossing a main road.

Mary. I think around third/fourth class is appropriate but it really does depend on the route. My child has to cross a main road but there is a lollypop lady so that´s fine. If there was no lollpypop lady or no pedestrian crossing I would have second thoughts.
