Hi,
just wondered if anyone can help with some advice/experiences...my son is nearly 5 [end of September] and he didn´t get a place in the Junior class...as I was told, we have to wait until next September, ...just don´t know what to do, he is very mature for his age and I am afraid that it will be too late for him to start the school at age 6. any advice will help.

Very late to wait until next year. If he is reasonably bright, it would be crazy for him to be starting in Junior infants at 6.

i am not too sure it is that late , it seems to me they finish secondary school too young and have to make life choices , of which they are very confused about

With transition year compulsory now in so many schools, this little one would be 20 finishing secondary school!
