Hi there,
I am looking for a part time childminder in ballincollig in the childrens own home but would consider the minders home also if in ballincollig.. It would involve 2 days one week and 1 day the following week, 8am to 6pm. 4 year old attends montessori so car owner essential. She is also a diabetic who needs extra care and attention but i would provide full training and all food and it shouldn´t be too much of a challenge if you are caring and motivated. Hi there,
Thanks for your reply. I just realised i never mentioned i also have 18 month old girl!! Before we decide anything i just want to let you know what would be involved to allow you decide early on if you are interested as the diabetes has turned people off in the past.
Firstly im a part time nurse working shift so the hours would be (8am-6pm)
Wk1 monday and friday
Wk2 wednesday
Wk3 Tuesday
Wk4 Thursday and friday
And back to wk1 again. These hours are fairly set and i would only ever switch days if it was ok with you. Also aisling (4) has diabetes. this does require extra care but is very manageable once you get the hang of it. She needs her blood sugars checked a few times throughout the day with a glucometer, no needles and she can almost do it herself now anyway! She gets 2 injections(very small needle) in the morning, one at lunch and one at dinner. Aisling is so used to these now and doesn´t even blink for them. For the first few weeks i would show you first and only have you doing it when you felt comfortable. All her meals would be prepared by me. Both my family and my husbands family live in ballincollig. My husband also works in ballincollig so there is always somebody nearby. She attends montessori in muskerry estate 5 days a week, 9.15am to 12.15pm.
The 18 month old is a little angel with no issues!
If you are still interested Can you let me know how much you would expect for the day (8am to 6pm). My last childminder was 60 a day in her own home.

I am a first year, 20 Year old, ucc student currently on study month looking for part time work and hopefully summer work.
