Guidelines for Developing Textbook Rental Schemes in Schools

These guidelines were announced by the Minister for Education and Skills, Ruairí Quinn in January 2013. The Guidelines provide practical advice to schools on how rental schemes can be established and operated.

Book Rental Schemes were phased out in primary schools in September 2023 when the new 'Free Books Scheme' came into effect. However the guidelines below may still be useful to secondary schools who implement book rental schemes.
