Cooking is a key life skill, and learning to cook is an important step in building a positive relationship with food. At Dublin Cookery School, we believe the best way to learn is getting hands-on and stuck in! And that’s exactly how we have designed our Growing Gourmets camps.
In a world of ready-meals, learning to make a meal with fresh ingredients is so important to living a healthful life. Our camps are designed to provide food-curious teens with the foundations needed to kick start a life-long culinary adventure. In each session, we go beyond just following a recipe, exploring flavour, cooking techniques and baking skills….and of course…how to clean up!
Each day, they will have expert and entertaining demonstrations in the professional demonstration kitchen, interspersed with hands-on cooking, before sitting down together for a phone-free gourmet meal!
This year we are taking our summer camps to the next level. With 4 different sessions, you’re guaranteed to find something that will excite your teen’s tastebuds
Junior Camps: Ages 11 – 13
Session 1: In the first junior camp, we’ll introduce the youngsters to new spices, grill up some magic and show them how they can be healthy and enjoy food and the art of the hidden 5-a-day! Some of the greatest hits this week will be a mouth-watering Green Curry and Sweet Strawberry Shortcakes
Session 2: In our second round, we eat the rainbow! We showcase how to get creative in the kitchen and cook with colour. We will go on a trip around the world creating favourite dishes like Huevos Rancheros, Noodle Stir-fries and Sweet & Sour Pork
Senior Camps: Ages 14 – 17
Session 1: Session one will take the teens on a Roman Holiday, exploring Italian delights, before delving into some takeaway favourites and movie night treats. Some highlights from the week’s include brunch favourite Avo Smash, Poke Bowls and Jammy Donuts!
Session 2: In the second session, we’ll journey to Asia, and showcase their grill master skills while introducing them to the art of entertaining. The menu this week will touch on all-time favourites such as sausage rolls, and newer delights like Acai Bowls. Book Now
Cooking is a skill we should all learn, the earlier the better!
