Greenan Maze Primary School Tours

Greenan Maze have been hosting school tours for over 20 years and have very experienced and friendly tour guides. A school tour at Greenan Maze includes a personalised tour guide with an educational, active and full day outing which includes elements of heritage and local history, nature and environmental activities, and age specific tours. We believe in giving a high quality tour and therefore only host two groups per day.

Tours can last from 2 ½ to 4 hours depending on your request. We are delighted to cater to your schools specific needs and you can mix and match the activities to your special requirements. Contact Anita on 086-8845624 for more information or to make a booking. We also provide undercover lunch tables and free tea/coffee for teachers.

Testimonial:

“Hi Will and Anita and team, I just wanted to email to say thank you again for a fantastic day on Wednesday! The children had a wonderful time and have been chatting about all the fun they had. The maze was a highlight as always, but they also especially loved meeting Rhubarb the pig, the horses and the other animals. I’m amazed at how much they remembered from the nature walk and from the museum tours, too. Your guides were excellent as always – they related very well to the children and were informative, professional and friendly. We come back each year as we feel it is a super tour for the age group (2nd class.) There is a lovely balance – it’s very educational but lots of fun, and it feels very relaxed but is very well organised. Thank you again for a great experience at Greenan Maze this year.”
Kind regards, Rebecca Adamson Taney Parish Primary School, Dundrum.

Transition Year Bio-Diversity Tours

On our nature activity tour students will learn about biodiversity in both the natural and farmed environments as they are guided around our beautiful fields, hedgerows and woodland walks. As they learn to identify some of Ireland’s common wildflowers and insects there will be plenty of hands-on opportunities and we’ll get up close to some of the weirdest ones! Taking a closer look at the unseen world around us, we’ll find out just how important these tiny creatures are in the food web… including our own dinner plates. With additional activities in our farm museums students will gain a clear understanding of how changes in the way we live have made a big impact on the natural world…and what they can do to help restore the balance.

With relevance to the science, geography and history curriculum and the Green Schools programme, talks can be tailored to fit in with your special interests or classroom activities, with an option for follow-up sessions at your school. Let us know what you need… we’d love to talk to you!

We believe in giving a high quality tour and therefore only host 50 students per day in two groups of 25 people. Tours last maximum two hours and cost €15 per secondary school student. We can cater all our tours to your specific requirements, we’d be happy to chat with you anytime.
