Rafting.ie is based at the idyllic setting of the Canoe Centre, in Mill Lane, Palmerstown Dublin 20, on the banks of the River Liffey. It is easy to forget when you are emersed in these stunning surroundings that we are just off the M50 and 20 minutes’ drive from Dublin City Centre.
Our Full Day Programme for schools, is specifically designed to suit small group work which promotes positive communication and teamwork, while giving students a chance to reconnect with nature.
The day is broken down into two parts with students experiencing both an exhilarating River Rafting Trip and an engaging Action bound Scavenger Hunt and Bushcraft challenge. Students with the help of our Guide will learn to navigate along on the River Liffey, through the beautiful Strawberry Beds, flowing downriver, navigating four weirs where they will see stunning wildlife and discover some intriguing history on the way.
During the Action bound Scavenger Hunt and Bushcraft challenge, they will learn a series of survival skills from, building shelters to fire starting, using flints and strikers. At the end of the session, students can take pride in their accomplishments by enjoying toasted marshmallows and hot chocolate around their campfire and chat about their day.
Our programme can be adjusted to suit any year group from 1st- 6th year and we are happy to work with schools to tailor the day to ensure your students fully harness their experience with us.
All our Raft Guides are IRF (International Raft Federation) trained, Garda Vetted and First Aid Certified
