Teacher Supports for Online Teaching



While schools have re-opened, some schools or classes have had to work remotely due to local closures. A lot has been learned by schools from the school closures at the end of the last school year with schools implementing a wide range of technologies to deliver online learning and support their students when needed! Access to technologies and effective broadband vary widely but there have been a lot of resources put in place to try and support teachers who need to teach online. Check out some of the resources available below



Distance Learning

The Professional Development Service for Teachers (PDST) Digital Technology team has developed a new dedicated webpage of curated content to support schools and teachers engaged in distance learning in order to provide continuity to pupils/students.

Official education portal of the Department of Education and Science in Ireland. Providing a range of resources, worksheets, and project information for all subjects within the Irish primary curriculum broken down by class levels. Curriculum focused resources

Coronavirus Information

Keep up-to-date with the latest Department of Education Statements and Letters issued to Principals and to parents re Coronavirus, school closures and state exams.


Cúla4 ar Scoil

TG4 launched a new programme Cúla4 ar Scoil for primary pupils who usually attend Gaelscoileanna and Gaeltacht Schools. The programme broadcast weekdays at 10 am and be watched back on their player

Ark Cultural Centre for Children supports teachers and students

To support teachers in delivering arts-based learning, we have a variety of classroom packs and at-home activities from Ark programmes which are relevant to many different areas of the curriculum.


Bitesize on BBC.co.uk

The Bitesize section on the bbc website offers daily lessons with videos and worksheets for primary and secondary level students. Three new lessons every weekday.

Europe’s online platform for school education has lots of resources to support teachers during school closures. It also provides links to all the different european national websites for online and distance learning during school closures
