Below you will find FAQs for our Summer CPD Courses for Primary Teachers.

Are your courses approved by the DES for 3 EPV days?
Yes ALL the summer CPD courses we offer to primary teachers are approved for 3 EPV days.
 
Can I enrol on a course now?
Enrolment will open shortly

Are the Schooldays.ie Summer Courses available to non-teachers?
The courses are also open from 3rd July to SNAs, Secondary School Teachers, Childcare Workers, Childminders and Parents who feel that they may benefit from the course but the EPV scheme will not apply

How can I access my course?
Once you have enrolled/paid for the summer course you will receive an automated payment receipt.
When you enrolled for your course, you also registered on the Schooldays website and created a username and pasword which will also be your login details for the course.
Course Access dates are as follows and will be through, a link to our Learn Platform will be visible on the Schooldays website when you log in:

The Fundamentally Moving Classroom opens 1st July 2024
Nature Based Learning course opens 1st July 2024
Yoga Course opens 1st July 2024
Supporting Wellbeing in your school course opens 17th July 2024

 
When date must my course be completed by?
Courses completition dates differ as follows:
Supporting Wellbeing in your school must be completed by 16th August 2024
The Fundamentally Moving Classroom must be completed by 9th August 2024
Nature Based Learning course-must be completed by 9th August 2024
Yoga Course must be completed by 16th August 2024
   
How much time do I need to spend at the course? 
You are required to engage with the course for a total of 20 hours.
 
Do I have to be online for the full 20 hours?
You must complete a minimum of 13 hours online and are allowed to add a maximum of 7 hours offline time for other course related learning activities.  This offline time can be manually inputted.

What level of computer skills do I need to undertake the course?
Only basic computer skills are required and support is available if you run into any difficulties

What technical equipment do I require to do the course?
You need a computer/ or smart device, earphones/speakers, an email address and access to the internet.
 
Can I spread the 20 hours over a number of weeks or do it all in a couple of days? 
You can do either, you decide when you want to do the summer EPV course - there is no synchronous/live element to the course. The only requirement is that you demonstrate participation for a total of 20 hours by your course completition date

How are the courses structured?
The courses are divided into modules. Each module has a number of topics and sub-topics. Participants will be expected to participate in course forums and submit assignments as required. Tutors will be available for support and feedback.

What supports are available to me while undertaking the course?
You will have access to our expert tutors who are available via email throughout the duration of your summer course during working hours from Monday to Friday. Technical support is also available through email. We can also arrange to have a tutor or technical support person contact you by phone if you give us a buzz on 01 4406608

How am I assessed?
Your course is 20 hours in duration.  This comprises at least 13 hours online, and our learning management system tracks this.  As part of each module you will be assessed in a variety of ways such as a quiz, submission of an assignment and/or interaction with the course forum. You will also be required to submit a reflective assignment at the end of your course.  These activities, and the time taken to absorb our recommended reading and resources are included in your 20 hours of study time.
 
How many courses can I do for EPV days?
You can undertake up to three courses but each course must be completed before another is started.
1 ONLINE COURSE entitles you to claim 3 EPV DAYS
2 ONLINE COURSES entitles you to claim 4 EPV DAYS 
3 ONLINE COURSES entitles you to claim 5 EPV DAYS

How will I receive proof of completion of the course for EPV?
 Once your completion has been validated you will be issued with your summer course completion certificate within 2 business days. The certificate can then be downloaded from the online learning system and in the case of teachers can be presented as proof of the right to EPV days during the school year.

Will I get a certificate of completion from Schooldays.ie?
Yes, you can download it on completion. This Certificate can be submitted to your principal to claim your 3 EPV days.
 
How long do I have to wait to download my Certificate after I complete the course?
From the time you request course completion, it will usually take a maximum of 1 working day for the facilitator to review your CPD record and for your Certificate to be emailed to you.

Is my course compatible with the iPad?
Yes.  You can complete this course anywhere you have internet access and a smart device or PC/laptop

What is your course fee refund policy?
Courses fees will only be refunded

  • in the event that the course does not proceed for any reason
  • or if a refund is sought prior to the course portal opening in July 2024.
