Top 10 Fun Things to Do for Teens

We interviewed teens James (14) and Ellie (13) to find out how they are occupying their free time during Covid 19, here are the top 10 things they enjoy.

James loves making Brownies from the Humming Bird Café Cook Book, he believes they are the perfect brownies, they are lovely and gooey in the middle but his advice is only if you make them right! You can check out the recipe here.

Ellie’s favourite recipe is Quick and Easy Banana Oat Muffins. Ellie loves them because not only are they easy to bake but very nutritional too and adores them when they are hot out of the oven. You can check out the recipe here.

Netflix has a great selection of movies to enjoy and box sets. Ellie loves Gossip Girl, Gilmore Girls and Friends…………….never gets dull!

Walking the Dog

Great excuse to get outdoors to walk the dog. Just keep social distancing in mind and don’t forget to scoop the poop.

Arts & Crafts

For Teens who love Art, it is wonderful to have the time to enjoy these moments and be creative. Happiness is Homemade has some lovely easy crafts for tweens and teens.

Scrap Books

Scrap Books are brilliant for recording memories. Also a lovely gift for friends, wonderful use of time organising a scrapbook as a gift for the ones you love. The Spruce Craft is a great website for scrapbooking tutorials and ideas. Pinterest is also brilliant for finding inspiration.

Tik Tok

Learn some Tik Tok dancing at home, plenty of social distancing learning these dances at home. Ellie likes following @theweeknd, @marknastasio and of course friends.

Great way to hang out with your friend’s online and sticking to isolation rules.

Minecraft, Overwatch, Monopoly Plus and Fortnite are some of the games James enjoys playing online with his friends. Call of Duty Warzone is a new free to play action battle royale and while it is rated 18, Parents have the option to customise the settings making it suitable for younger teens.

Family walks

Choose a place that has plenty of open space so you can stick to the rules of 2m spacing. Getting outdoors is super important and it is a great way to spend time together.

Card Games

Spit & Gin Rummy are the chosen card games by James and Ellie. Check out how to play Spit here

Board Games

Monopoly, Game of Life and Cluedo. Great opportunity to use the board games you got for Christmas.
