Hello,

I aplogise if I misunderstand the purpose of the board and post incorrectly, however, I believe my grandfather and grandmother may have attended Synge street school in the first decade of the 20th century (c1900-1912). They both went on to be active in the Easter 1916 uprising and the war of idependence (I have both his medals). I was wondering if you have any records or archives that go back so far, or indeed if not, where might they be accessed?

Thankyou for your help and best wishes

Denis

Hi Denis

I live around the corner from there. I know the public library on Kevins Street, just down the road from the school, beside the DIT had a display and some records of its own role and ppl in the area that were involved in 1916. It would be worth talking to them.
