How long should 5th class do their homework?

We know that have trouble with the Irish which takes up our time but for my eldest who is in 5th class his homework takes up two hours hour more. How many hours should it be really/how many hours does your child do their homework? Is it too much for him?

It takes my guy around 40-50 minutes. I think 50 mins is the standard and should stop at that. 8)

40 - 50 minutes should do it, any more than that and either your child is having difficulty in a few areas or the teacher is assigning too much
