-----------------------------------
Hi - just looking for a guide on how much to pay a childminder for my two kids - drop at 7.30am, one in school from 9-1.30pm & second child finished at 2.30pm. Collection at 5pm. No dinner provided - only light lunch. Childminder asking for 20 days hols + all bank holidays.

Based outside Swords.

Just need advice what the going rate is for the above? Many thanks.

if the minder is above board and paying her taxes and stuff. then they should be paid holiday pay even if it is in their own home.they are available to work they still have their own bills to pay.

10 euro per hour in your home 8 euro per hour in minders.bank holidays and holidays taken by yourself would normally be paid for.any holidays taken by minder would not be covered.a petrol allowance would also have to be included.

have to admit 20 days is a lot that is unless she has a holiday booked herself but you shouldent pay for that.also if she has decided not to work on bank holidays. then dont pay for them as she is not available.

8€ per hour or part of for two siblings in cm home is desirable rate depending number of hours, days etc, I dont provide any food....a cm in own home is self employed (whether declaring it or not) and is not entitled to any statutory holiday entitlements....personally looking for 20 days paid hols is unbelievable...I dont charge for bank hols...
perhaps swords has a shortage of cms and so the demand is there for them..

if the childminder choses not to work on a bank holiday.i dont think they should expect to be paid for that day as they are not available.even if the parents themselves are off on those days.and if the parents work on bank holidays but the minder wants that day off she is not available so you dont pay.but if she is available to work then yes she gets paid keep us updated on it.

If a childminder is minding in their own home then there is no need for holiday pay but if the minder is minding in the children s home they are very much entitled to holiday pay, I´m not sure how many days though....
