My son is 7 and in Senior Infants. He is finding it so hard reading, and he can´t get words even with sounding them out.

I had a meeting with his teacher and he was nearly going to hold him back but that it would cause him more stress. He is getting help but can anyone recommend anything to help him as it´s stressing us both out.
