Revenue will not except an excuse the minder wanted cash in hand. There has been a case recently of revenue carrying out an audit and issueing a tax bill and fine to the family and a tax bill to the minder.

I interviewed several potential childminders recently and some looked for as low as 50 per day to a max of the minimum wage . We eventually agreed on 75 per day for 9.5 hour day. And you will find that most minders prefer not to be on the books, that was our experience anyway. We are looking again and i don´t think I will offer anymore than 70 this time
