dundalk Grammar vs Scoil ui Mhuire (dunleer) 02/11/2011 17:08 - School Specific (Locality: Louth) ----------------------------------- I had intended to send my children to Dundalk Grammar (fee paying school) but have just been to their open day. I was extremely disappointed at the state of the school, the facilities - i really thought that I was back in the dark ages (a new school has been in the planning stages for quite a while). I however went to scoil ui Mhuire on the same day & their open day was so much more impressive - it is a modern, bright & very well facilitated school (VEC). I am really stressed out about the right choice to make. Do I choose a school that has a very good reputation, fee paying but the facilities are dreadful with an ethos I agree with along with the rules & regulations a lot of schools lack these days, or do I send them to a VEC school with also a good reputation but I am unaware of the drive & ambition that they have for their students. Any advice would be grateful!
