Barretstown's <span style='text-transform: uppercase;'>TY</span> Programme
Barretstown’s Residential TY Programme is an exciting residential experience which takes place on the beautiful 500-acre Barretstown campus. Run over 5 days/4 nights (Monday to Friday), this is a key opportunity for any Transition Year student group to spend time away in a fun, safe and educational environment, learn new skills and also gives students an insight into the work undertaken by Barretstown to support children and families affected by serious illness.

EPA
This section of the EPA website contains resources for teachers of Transition Year which have been developed to support you in the context of the second level curriculum. Gaisce - Presidents Award
Transition Year is an ideal time to participate in the Presidents Award. The Award works on the basis of a personal challenge set by you. You will set the challenge and agree it with a President’s Award leader. Age Action
Getting Started – Teaching older people basic IT. Your school could do so much to assist Age Action’s campaign to encourage older people to use technology. As part of our fight against digital exclusion, Age Action's Getting Started programme delivers training basic IT to people over the age of 55. Young Social Innovators' mission is to raise social awareness among 15-18 year olds in Ireland by providing social awareness education through action and platforms for young people and those guiding them, which will result in an enhancement of the personal sense of justice, responsibility and capacity innate to all. SparkED is a youth leadership programme that empowers young people by teaching them valuable life skills. Our online platform allows the students to access all our workshops and extra resources remotely. Students will be able to complete interactive workshops on our website sparked.ie, in areas such as CV Skills, Presentation Skills, Interview Skills, Time Management and Study skills, Computer/ IT Skills and Volunteering.

121 Digital
In the 121digital programme (supported by government (DCENR)) adults bring any digital device to their local school for FREE tuition, by TY students.Tutors are paired with their Learner for the course. They get to know how their Learner thinks, understands, learns and what makes them ‘tick’. Sharing digital skill is the ‘glue’ that brings our Tutors and Learners together - then they chat about sport, history, hobbies and life. READ MORE
Friends of the Elderly
The central aim of the Friends of the Elderly Transition Year and CSPE Programmes is to give time for the young and old to enjoy each other's company. The planned activities will give the students a greater apprecation of the values of the elderly, of how life was lived in Ireland during the 30's, 40's and 50's, of what the elderly have achieved and what they are passing on to us. French Language Holidays

T Y Programmes with Surfdock
Our popular Schools Programme focuses on students attaining competency in several watersports disciplines over a series of lessons. Sports on offer include stand up paddle boarding, windsurfing, wakeboarding, sailing, Dragonboat racing and kayaking. Programmes are customised relative to the schedule of the school. This programme is particularly popular with TY Groups, who can attain sign off for components of the Gaisce award. READ MORE

Transition Year Ideas is a dedicated youth service for students in Transition Year. Services include Personal Skills Courses for the Gaisce Awards, work experience in our drama school, College Application & Auditions Workshops, Personal Development and much more.
