Have a howl of a Hallowe’en in 2014 at Westport House’s annual Hallowe’en Fest . You and your little monsters will have a hauntingly good time as you experience the thrills ‘n’ chills of the Pirate Adventure Park – you will board the eerie Westport House Express train ride, get into high ‘spirits’ on the swinging ship and the pedal Go Karts and take the plunge to death on the log flume water ride.  The park is open from 1pm to 5pm daily.

Galway Abooo Halloween Festival
Galway's Halloween festival happens in the Latin quarter of the city. This year the event promises a parade from the spectacular and magical Macnas, the international street theatre company. The parade itself is planned for Sunday evening at dusk, and with usual mythical Macnas style it promises to be otherworldly, outrageous and should not be missed. The rest of the festival will host workshops, scary costumes and something for all age groups.

Join in the family fun at the GAA Museum in Croke Park this Halloween with a wide range of activities taking place throughout the mid-term break. From Saturday 25th October until Sunday 2nd November we will have additional stadium tours as well as the Trick or Treat Trail of Croke Park for our younger visitors!  These special tours will involve a treasure hunt as part of the stadium tour - guess the answer to the clue to find a pumpkin and win a treat! Make a Wish Witches & Wizards 5km fun run
Make-A-Wish Witches and Wizards 5km Fun Run will take place on Saturday 25th October, in the Phoenix Park. Over 1,000 Witches and Wizards are expected to attend on the day, including Make-A-Wish Ambassadors Devon Murray, who famously played Seamus Finnigan in the Harry Potter film series, and TV3’s Lucy Kennedy. Samhain Festival Marley Park
The festival at Marlay Park celebrates the traditional Samhain ways with a scary and ghoulish haunted forest walk. This year’s Samhain will feature a longer route with more scary footage of chills, freaks and frights than ‘you can shake a broom at’. The forest at Marlay Park will be alive, for one night only with freaky fog, ghastly spiders, all seeing eyeballs, spine chilling skeletons, menacing witches and wizards and rotten pirates. (Not suitable for buggies). Wristbands are at a first come, first served basis.

The Virginia Pumpkin Festival
The Virginia Pumpkin Festival offers four days and nights of  spooky pumpkin fun and entertainment. As well as the Giant Pumpkin Weigh-in that attracts growers with pumpkins weighing from 500lbs to 1,000lbs. This festival has something for all the family with a Haunted Forest Walk; Street Theatre; Artisan Food & Craft Fair; Children’s Fancy Dress Party; Walking Treasure Hunt and much more. New to the Pumpkin Festival this year is an Aristocrats Pumpkin Ball hosted by renowned chef Richard Corrigan in the Park Lodge Hotel.  The organisers have also introduced an “All things Pumpkin Competition” and are inviting pumpkin growers to showcase their pumpkins no matter what the size.
