i was a student at lindsay road school, left in about 1953, our teachers were mr dickie, miss reid, and miss cowle (for a while),it was a very happy time in my life, i was wondering if any of the other students were still in contact. i met miss reid in Canada about 1985, and stayed in touch with her untill she sadly passed away.i have just returned to live here after almost 40 years in england(doncaster)

My daughter attends Lindsay Rd. and they will be celebrating the school´s centenary next year, as part of it they want to contact ex-alumni. The school´s spring fair is on the 9th of May, around 3.pm, on the school grounds. You might meet someone you know. Either way you might want to phone the principal, Miss Fulton, she might be able to inform you.

i, I went to Lindsay Road for nearly all my primary age. When I was there the school seemed like a hundred years old. I remeber playing backet ball with these very strange basket ball hoops which I have since discovered were ´Netball´ hoops.

Anyway I am living in Sydney Australia and my sisters who also went to Lindsay Road in the 1970´s: Eloise and Chistina are living in Norwich, England

I attended Lindsay Road School for about a year, when I was nine years old. I was a "refugee" from Belfast in 1941, following the Blitz. I lived with my aunt and uncle in Glenarm Avenue. I wonder if anyone who was there at that time might remember me?

Hi I attended Lindsay Road from 1951 to 1959. I remember Betty Orr and her brothers. My mother also was at school there the same time as Betty´s mother.  Billy and Robert Navan were in my class I think they are your brothers Barbara. I have the photograph of all the students taken at the Christmas Concert 1954. I have lived in Miami Florida for the past 34 years but travel to Ireland regularly. My time at school was mostly happy except for a brief period with a substitute teacher called Miss Thompson. I am still friends with my best friend from school Kathleen Frances now McCabe.

Hi,

I attended Lindsay Road having been transferred from the Methodist School on Jones´ Road circa 1945. I was at the school until 1952 when I went on to Mountjoy School.

Barbara, did you live originally on Clonliffe Road? If so, we were on Susanville Road and my parents were friends with yours.

It would be great if more could join Lindsay Road´s Facebook page.  I cannot be at the celebrations - but would love to have met up with former school mates.  I was there at the time of Mrs Pasker - warm and super teacher - and Miss Reid.  Mr Dickie was a huge loss when he died.  So I was in class with Sylvia Doak, Alice Bolton, Robert and Billy Navan and above me was Elizabeth Orr, and way above (5 years) was Michael Harrison, Brian Waring, Ian Guthrie, my brother John Blythman, Ken Cooke, Crozier Deane. Then there was Sheena Cameron who sometimes brought me to school - she´s now Beattie.  Margaret Boden
