Hibernating is when animals like hedgehogs go to sleep during the cold months and then wake up when the weather improves. Before hibernating the animal often gathers a store of food to keep him/her going through the winter months. Squirrels hoard their food also in this way. If you google hibernate, you should get lots more info.
