You will find information on important dates to remember over the forthcoming months and links to a wide range of resources including useful organisations and websites along with revision supports.





Mid Dec 2012		Online facility for External Candidate Application for Leaving Certificate becomes available. Closing date 5pm 31st Jan 2013 - further information on the Examinations Commission Website
February 1stClosing Date for CAO Applications.
April 2013The dates for the 2013 Leaving Certificate Oral Tests is 15th to 26th April, 2013 - further information on the Examinations Commission website
5th June 2013Start date for Leaving Certificate Examinations - View timetable here
Mid August 2013 Leaving Certificate results expected to be available through schools - online from 12 noon on Examinations Commission website - date of issue to be confirmed


There are a number of useful revision website available to Leaving Certificate Students:

CareersPortal.ie is an online resource which incls a Career Exploration toolbox, an Occupational Database, a CAO database and wizard along with facilities to search by employment sector, occupations and courses

Skoool.ie provides study notes and exam guides on a wide range of subjects at Junior & Leaving Certificate level

Scoilnet A website for parents, teachers and students. The student post-primary section allows you search for additional material resources under syllabus topics for each subject in the leaving certificate.

MyStudyMate.ieLeaving Cert study videos made by students for students - All Free!

Examtime.com allows students and teachers to create their own personal learning environment. You can create Mind Maps, Flashcards, Quizzes, set yourself Study Goals and share your resources with your friends or class. Visit Examtime.com

StudyNotes.ie is a free site provided for both Junior and Leaving certificate students where you will find  study notes and other useful resources.

PositiveMaths.ieAn online resource for Maths students with free seminars and small online tutorials on maths topics for junior & leaving cert students

Alison.com is a free interactive maths resource for Irish Leaving Cert students – higher & ordinary levels which include video lectures and interactive lessons.


Examinations.ie
Past examination papers, marking schemes and examination papers can be viewed on the Examinations Commission Website under their Examination Material Archive Section. Sample examination papers can be viewed on their Examination Information Section.

Benn Hogan Exam ArchiveA Leaving Cert exam archive by Benn Hogan which allows you to change the year or see the solutions without re-entering everything – ( which is required on examinations.ie)  http://www.bennhogan.com/examarchive/

The Paper Mate Leaving Certificate Edition app provides easy access to
past examination papers and marking schemes for all Leaving Certificate subjects from 2001 right up to 2011.

NEW website, StudyClix.ie, launched April 2012. Free revision resources.
Each subject at Jnr & Leaving Cert level is broken down into topics. Pick a topic to study and view all past questions on that topic. Try answering the past questions on that topic and then view the marking schemes to see how you did.

Leaving Certificate Examination Arrangements for Candidates with Physical and Learning Difficulties

Candidates with permanent or long-term conditions, including visual and hearing difficulties, or specific learning difficulties, which they believe will significantly impair their performance in the examinations may apply to the State Examinations Commission for a reasonable accomodation to be made to facilitate them taking the examinations. Such accommodations may include exemptions from examination components, use of tape recorders, wordprocessors, large print, dictation, exam papers being read to candidates, rest periods, special desks etc. Check out the following link to the Commission's website for further information. School-based, VTOS and candidates following other analogous schemes should apply for reasonable accommodations through their school or education provider. External candidates should apply directly to the State Examinations Commission. Applications must be made on the prescribed application form which is available through schools/education providers or directly from the State Examinations Commission
