TG4’s younger viewers (and their parents) received a timely and free Halloween treat with the launch last weekend of two brand-new and fun Irish language Apps for pre-school kids. The two new releases, Cúlacaint2 and OLLY an Veain Bheag Bhán are being officially launched at the Oireachtas na Gaeilge 2012 festival in Letterkenny. They are available to download for free to iPhones, and iPads from the iTunes store, by searching for Cula4 or TG4.

www.cula4.com,, the daily kids tv broadcasts and on-line output from TG4 continues to reinforce Cúla4 as an entertaining and fun point of contact with the Irish language for kids worldwide.
TG4 Head of Output, Lís Ní Dhálaigh says “Today’s kids are very discerning in their viewing choices and TG4 is keeping in tune with their needs and wishes by offering their favourite content in Irish on all platforms. As smart devices increase in popularity among all ages, we are breaking new ground by ensuring that this important platform has attractive Irish language offerings too. We’ve been really heartened by the positive reaction to our first App, Cúlacaint. Our next TG4 App, Ag Spraoi le Claude, also for this pre-school age-group will launch later in November and other developments are being planned,” she said.
Cúlacaint2This second App in the series presents another 100 fun Irish language words with images and sounds for pre-school kids or learners. The words include Alphabet, Numbers, Colours, Food and Clothes. The App offers an image accompanied by the written and the spoken version of the word in Irish.
OLLY an Veain Bheag Bhán.This popular animation series for young children features the adventures of a friendly, helpful, eager-to-please little van with lots of his friends... and his driver, Stan. In this fun and exciting new App, you can help Olly fix his friends and deliver important packages!
